Steve Le Prevost FRPS, AFIAP, MPAGB, FIPF says about his photography, "Where possible my aim is to challenge the fundamentals and boundaries of photography and to strive to be unique in my preferred style of photographic art."
After capturing the initial image with as much sharpness and detail as I can achieve I purposely set out to degrade the image, to reduce that clinical sharpness we generally associate with a more standard record photograph. My goal is to create a picture with mood, feeling and atmosphere. The creative process begins to take shape in my imagination and evolves as the picture takes shape, the end result can and often is completely different to how I had envisaged it initially. Compositional rule breaking is something I enjoy so I try to add this to the mix as often as I feel it appropriate. If the end result gives pleasure to someone and maybe hangs on the walls of their home I have succeeded
Judging National and International Salons is something I greatly enjoy along with giving presentations of my work. I am enormously grateful to Fotospeed Distribution for sponsoring me, this allows me the opportunity to test drive a large variety of photographic papers.
