The HA170 B hood is specifically designed to be mounted on Sony PVM A170 series monitors. It comes with a snap kit that allows for easy installation by mounting 4 snap studs into the upper and lower holes on both sides of the monitor. The hood can be used as a 3-sided visor or with the bottom panel inserted for optimal glare relief. Additionally, a rain cape can be attached to the back of the hood using Velcro binding tape. However, it is important to note that this hood is not compatible with Sonys protective screen covers.
If you are using yoke mounts that attach to the sides of the monitor, the hood can still be used by positioning the included adhesive Velcro strips in front of the yokes and attaching the hood to them. This eliminates the need for the snap option. Overall, the HA170 B hood offers a versatile and convenient solution for reducing glare on Sony PVM A170 series monitors, but it is not compatible with protective screen covers from Sony.
