Kaiser K5631 Book Cradle 45/30
A specialist support system for protective copying and digitisation of bound material. The K5631 accommodates books with open sizes up to 73 × 45 cm and thicknesses up to 15 cm, combining padded book platforms with a lockable anti-reflection glass pressure plate and controlled pressure mechanism. The 6 mm extra-white float-glass plate is anti-reflection coated on both sides, while adjustable platform spacing accommodates different book spines and the pressure system automatically maintains the selected pressure as pages are turned.

Designed for careful copying of bound material with open sizes up to 73 × 45 cm and book thicknesses up to 15 cm.
Anti-reflection glass plate
A 6 mm extra-white float-glass pressure plate uses anti-reflection coating on both sides for high colour neutrality and very low residual reflection.
Controlled page pressure
A spindle-drive mechanism provides initial pressure adjustment, followed by automatic pressure control as pages are turned.

Hold pages flat with minimal reflection
The K5631 uses a lockable pressure plate manufactured from 6 mm thick extra-white float glass. Both sides are treated with an anti-reflection optical interference coating, providing high colour neutrality and residual reflection below 0.5%.
Release rails on both sides allow the glass plate to be unlocked easily, and the plate remains located in its open position while pages or originals are repositioned.

Adjustable padded platforms for different bindings
Two padded platforms
Two foam-padded platforms, each measuring 30 × 45 cm, support the book on either side of the spine.
Adjustable spine clearance
The spacing between the two platforms can be adjusted to accommodate book spines of different sizes.
Up to 15 cm book thickness
The cradle is designed for books measuring up to 15 cm / 5.9 in. thick.
Pressure control
Set once, then maintain pressure automatically
Spindle-drive adjustment
Initial pressure is set using a spindle drive operated by hand crank.
Automatic pressure control
Once adjusted, the system automatically maintains pressure after each
page is turned.
Quick pressure release
A dedicated mechanism allows pressure to be released quickly when
repositioning pages.
Return to previous pressure
After release, the mechanism can return to the previously selected
pressure setting.

Fold-out support for larger books
A fold-out support bracket can hold books with open sizes up to 90 × 60 cm / 35.4 × 23.6 in. while individual pages are positioned underneath the glass pressure plate.
