A successful print begins with a clear intention. How large should the image be? Which details need to be preserved? Should the print feel bold and immediate, or quiet and subtle? The answers influence every choice that follows.
A colour-managed workflow creates a dependable starting point. A calibrated display, an accurate media profile and careful soft proofing help the photographer or printer anticipate how colour and contrast will translate from an illuminated screen to a reflective sheet of paper.
